Try "Scrubbing Bubbles" to clean it. If the wrinkle isn't in bad shape just
overspray with the color of your choice. You can still find wrinkle paint in
auto parts stores, use the overspray trick if you can't find the right color.

  Subject: [GreenKeys] WU TTY

        Hi,

I have an old (heck, all TTYs are old now, I guess) WU model 19 TTY that is in a "mailbox" case with the rubberized paper advance wheel rather than a crank. Jack K0TTY looked at it and adjusted it so that it prints perfectly, and I scrubbed the case using elbow grease and a pressure washer.

I do have three questions about this unit.

First, the case still looks like garbage. It is a nasty off green with wrinkle finish, with highlights of 60 years of grease and nicotine. I am considering painting it, but hesitate doing so because I do not know what the proper color would be or where to get the wrinkle finish.

Second, the TTY unit itself sits on a 'drawer' type of affair, and there are places on each corner of the frame to bolt it down to the drawer. Does anyone know what type of bolt I should use, or should I just go to the hardware store and find something that works?

Lastly, there is a large white lens indicator light, as well as a little jeweled red lens indicator lamp, both with no lamp bases behind them. Does anyone know what those were (are) for, what type of lamp bases to look for and where to wire them up? One is labeled "printer tied up". The other is not labeled.

        Thank you in advance!

        Joe
