Yes, I understand that height restriction, but in the context of the restriction, a threat to larger aircraft which should never be lower than 500 feet above ground level other than landing or take-off or emergency situations. One might also conclude the operation of the drone above the 500 foot above ground level restriction might not be any significant factor in safety of flight to other aircraft when in close proximity to a structure, such as this 1500 foot tower.
Any threat to other aircraft posed by this drone at 1500 feet would be minor compared to threat of hitting the tower, me thinks.
Unfortunately, that isn't the letter of the regulation.

Drones for home use are allowed but there are restrictions including that they cannot be flown higher than 500 feet (clearly, this one was 1500 or more feet).
