GM OMs;

I just got the latest issue of QST.

In the back was a large ad about "Heathkit is back in business"
(see page 114).

I FLEW to the URL. I was, to say, GREATLY DISAPPOINTED that
all there was is a A-M Radio kit, and some parts (probably dug
out of storage) from 20-30 years ago...

Maybe things will improve - and I sure hope so - but it seems
to me that they could have come out with a kit that is a little
more exciting than an A-M radio.

My suggestion would be something like a bluetooth device with
maybe an Audrino driving it - and then modules could be designed
that either work together or separate to do cool things.

And now, playing the "angel of death/doom", I think their
biggest problem is that the kids (that I KNOW) today don't want
to learn. They want it RIGHT NOW. They don't want to KNOW WHY
something works - they just want the immediate satisfaction.

Maybe YOU know kids that want to learn - and that's great - but
when I show them my shack, and the Teletype machines, they yawn
and go back to texting...
