[GreenKeys] Hamvention 2017

FWIW
I almost never go inside because for me all the interesting stuff is in the
flea market. And I always have a flea market space because, like all
hamfests, a large percentage of the interesting/rare/bargain stuff gets
traded before the official "opening". So I look at this from an "inside"
perspective rather than as a "normal" attendee.

That said, the Xenia horse track mud was definitely a lot less welcoming
than the Hara cracked asphalt. And there were fewer flea market spaces and
sellers. Which means that Xenia was only 4X-6X larger and more interesting
than any other hamfest in the country. Instead of maybe 10X-20X like in Ye
Olden Days. YMMV.

I met several greenkeyers there and traded some pre-arranged TTY gear. It
is a great opportunity/excuse to meet up with people from Texas to
Wisconsin and all points east.

I took a bunch of photos of vintage gear for sale.
