It's regrettable David had such a miserable experience. I will admit it
did not have "charm" of Hara, but I always thought Hara looked like it
would fall down the week after the fest. Luckily, I never went the
years sewage issues prevailed. To Robert's point, the new site looked
new, but it also looked... 'new'. No memories, no intrinsic charm (as
yet), and everything was different, so no familiarity. Packing out
large items from the flea market seemed improved, at least for solo
attendees like me with no buddy to watch the items while I went for the
truck. Rain did make a mess of the market space, but I planned for it
as well (I chose to let the feet get dirty in Tevas, and hose them off
afterwards). I also agree that DARA missed some things on Day 1 (8AM
traffic into the arena, for one), but they seemed to be pivoting quickly
on issues.

Like David, I miss Hara. It did have character. But, I saw this for
what it was. HARA closed, and DARA had no control over that, had built
up this huge event expectation, and had to scramble to find an
alternative. I think they made the best of a bad situation.

Xenia has some incentive to work with DARA on the rough spots, as I
understand it brings in millions of $ to the area that weekend.

Jim
