The Navy teletype converters have been claimed and are on their way to a new home. Thanks to the few who responded.

I still have two full URA-6 Diversity units, one in collector quality and one in fine shape. These are uneconomical to ship via standard carriers. The URA-6 was designed with the R390 and R390A in mind as it uses the R390 IF signal to work with. THere are two CV-57's, each with a tuning scope, and one CM-14 "comparator" which looks at the both signals and selects the stronger pulse of the two. The next best thing would be a RTTY Regenerator and I have one of those two if anyone wants one.

Contact me for a real picture of the URA-6 if the one I am attaching to this email is not captured by the list system.. One of these would "upgrade" your R390 display :-).

Cheers,

Doug W5JV

Subject: Navy Teletype Converters Free for Pick-Up

If anyone is going to travel down through Central Louisiana duriong the next few months and is a fan of the old US Navy Teletype converters, I have a bunch free for pick-up. At least good for parts are from the URA6 & URA8 sets so assume they are parts sets though some are complete. The URA6/8 modules were built like a tank and last for decades. I've given some modules away to list members to repair their URA8 or 6 and they worked as soon as plugges in. So you might or might not get lucky.

I also have an opportunity to send a few of the converters up to Roanoak, VA via a good customer who is coming down to pick up some gear. This would be in June or July. The exchange would be you contribute a useful amount of $$ to lessen his gas expense and agree to pick up at his QTH in Roanoak. NO DELIVERIES ON THIS.

In line with these units, I have full mint copies from the Navy printing office (on linen paper with foldouts) of the URA-6 and URA-8 Diversity Systems. About an inch thick each. These are archival, library quality books. Rare in this condition. $125 each. I only have two.

Cheers,

Doug W5JV
