[GreenKeys] RTTY Roundup - musings

Please don’t misunderstand. I have real admiration for people who pursue
contesting or any other passion. These people are dedicated, enjoy the
challenge, and work hard to excel at it.
I think that goes double for Russ and other folks who enter the fray armed
with a mechanical Teletype machine. Bravo!
I intended to convey that I am far from being ready to participate, both
from lack of experience/ability to handle the rapid pace, and also because
I choose to play with ancient technology. Somehow I think having to walk
across the room to tune a rack-mounted receiver or spending 5
switch-flipping knob-twisting minutes to QSY a transmitter is a bit
limiting in this particular game!
Maybe, as Wayne suggests, I’ll try cuing up a “599” tape later when the
players are desperate enough for just one more contact.
Have fun!
Nick
