[GreenKeys] They're Back - UGC-136 surplus batch, and more

Good info Nick. Just checked: Ebay has a couple of vendors for the AC
connectors. I see one has 8 remaining.

More:
I'm trying to find if the Coast Guard was using the UGC-136 machines.
After 1930 they went from Bell system 14s, 15s and 19s to the 28s and in
the late 1970s to Model 37s to run both 5 and 8 bit. And I know there
were using 33s later on. They had quite an extensive network with many
miles of landline and submarine cables and hundreds of machines. Some
32s were aboard aircraft. Did they ever use the 136s? I'm asking because
the Coast Guard Museum is now under construction across the Thames from
me in New London. I plan on asking a few CG retiree friends to see if
they remember. Good place for a machine? They have a STEM exhibit planned.

Also the NL subbase is a next door neighbor, literally. And the sub
Museum is less than a mile from the house my son and I are restoring.
The Nautilus is the major attraction. We ran museum ships on the air a
few times from there. Would be nice to have a machine in place. Perhaps
network and have them make noise.

There's also the New England Wireless and Steam Museum. My flea market
M15 running there for 4 hours straight on battery last Saturday printing
history files caught much attention. I got dragged down into the
basement catacombs to evaluate several candidates for restoration. They
also have a Wheatstone morse punch in beatiful condition in its original
wooden enclosure with table! It's missing the power supply. I'm told
they might have a Creed tape transmitter! Just have to dig for it.

So potential homes would be for two 136 machines. And always a little
more for me to do.
