Yes, Stan V is 100% correct.  Id like a two level trigger,  but that being said I'm fine with a single switch and a relay,  it's more of preference of mine since I'm down there enough id more then likely see a light.  I work rotating 12s in maintenance so my schedule is all over, so im not inclined to test fate either lol.         I did snoop around and find a page with the breakdown for the switch kit but I think I'm just going to make a bracket with some kind of follower and a swich.Sent via the Samsung Galaxy S24+, an AT&T 5G smartphone

I infer from Andy's description that the use of two separate switches is so that they can be positioned to trigger at two different times.   One is positioned to activate a "low paper" warning light, but the machine would be allowed to continue running for a time after that.  Then if the Teletype machine's human servant doesn't replace the paper roll in time, and it runs further down - dangerously low - the second switch would cut off the TTY machine power altogether to prevent running out and typing directly on the platen.

Instead of two switches, just use a relay to switch both.

       Hi,

so since my machine is now usable I was woundering.  Was the low paper indicator a kit you could get or something folks made?

I tend to leave my machines running for a day or two at a time on the autostart streams and have almost ran my 15 out of paper a few times.  I want to make a low paper indicator light for my model 28 (just the printer) that would also cut the power to the machine, if left too long.  In my head Id have to have two switches.  One for the low level light and one for the power cut off.  If I figure it out I will make one for my 15.

Has anybody made or heard of anything?
