[Lowfer] Loopers are legal!

Eric,

Your imagination knows no bounds! Unfortunately, the screening process for
FCC field engineers precludes hiring anybody with imagination. They are a
very literal group.

That being said, those who make liberal interpretations of the Part 15 rules
simply do so at their own peril. There is no safety in numbers, or in saying
that other highly intelligent people have made the same choice.

The only thing that seems to be undeniably true on this subject is that the
Lowfer community receives little FCC scrutiny. If this practice continues,
our occasional "tweaks" will cause no trouble.

The Medfer situation is a little muddier, though. FCC field offices are
dealing with mini-AM broadcasters on a regular basis. I'd guess that sending
QRSS20 on 1703 kHz would be less attention-getting than installing a dozen
100 milliwatt transmitters on buildings and poles and linking the audio by
the Internet. THAT's being done in this area. Amazing.
