I had one experience of an LDE in Antarctica about 3.7Mhz in 1978,,, at 
around nightfall talking to a station in the
Falklands some 1500 miles to my North - 1.5 seconds delay of me switching 
off and me saying ta ta. I wasnt dreaming it...
