[Lowfer] laptop recommendations??

Good day all,

It seems that Santa is bringing me a laptop for Christmas. I want to make 
sure it has everything I need to run ARGO and to do lowfer related 
receiving before it's ordered.

It should have a soundcard because it comes with a DVD/CD ROM combination. 
I'm assuming this although soundcard isn't listed specifically. I think 
that just means the sound is built into the motherboard.

It does not have rs232 ports and might not have a parallel port because 
everything goes in via USB.

The model is a Dell Inspiron 1100, 2 Ghz Celeron processor, 256 mb ram, 
DVD/CD, 20 GB hard drive, XP-Home OS, 56k modem/fax built in and a network 
card.

It's alot easier to have the factory add on something BEFORE it's ordered, 
so I'd appreciate comments regarding whether there is anything else I need 
to order or whether this overstuffed punchbox is lacking any critical 
functions.

My interest is in laser and lowfer.
