I notice most of the HiFER beacon frequencies begin 13.555xxx, Why the 555?
How much success has there been receiving beacons at the upper end of the
"band"?

Is there a reliable way to rubber an epson oscillator?  By that I mean as if
it were a crystal?  Or do the internal discete components, feedback loops
etc., prevent this from being done.
