There is no difference in propagation potential within this narrow frequency
range. The area around 13555.4 was just a place where a number of guys
landed that were running QRSS3, and wanted to be seen in one screen shot.
All Hifers are not running the Epson oscillators. Some use synthesizers, and
others have crystal oscillators with discrete parts, allowing trimming. The
Epson oscillators can be pulled a bit by varying the power supply voltage.
The crystals in those modules have lousy temperature stability, of course,
so it's tough to stay away from other guys in a tight grouping, such as
around 13555.4. But there's a lot of room up there -- you can pick a
frequency away from the crowd, and wander to your heart's content. Same
thing is true at LF.
