Dunno. Some folks question including HiFERs, but given that most of them
are operated by the same people who run MedFERs and LowFERs, I think any
wall between actual Part 15 categories is an artificial distinction.
As for PUers, however, we have previously reported on them for academic
interest. I doubt that we'd ever publish plans for how to participate or
anything. For one thing, if we started reporting in much detail it would
probably have a dampening effect on the phenomenon, given that FCC staffers
do look in on our Web site from time to time.
And think how an unknown number of cryptic radiobeacons scattered throughout
the desert must look to the Homeland Security folks. Who are these wayposts
guiding, and for what nefarious purpose? Oooooh.
(As for exciters--in most fields of communication these days, I hear that
smaller exciters are OK, but the real issue is which one lasts longer.)
