Hi, Barry.
The L-10 was part of the suite of equipment under the
umbrella of "type 12," which in turn spawned many
other "types" (A.R.C.-speak for a set of items which
together made up a working radio and/or nav system).
The L-10 loop is documented in Korean War service-
through photograph, installed in
some of the H-13 "Sioux" helocopters ( "MASH" medevac)
and, through the installation manuals in L-15 and
other observation aircraft. There are probably more,
but I'm away from my documentation right now.
Note that the "by the book" installation in the H-13s
was the Type 17, which did not have a nav component.
Type 17 was two T-11 transmitters and an R-13 receiver
with a vertical.
But- as in WWII, so in Korea-
"the book" was not the last word in radio installations.
They installed what they could get.
