AND, it was so broad & spectrum so uncongested in 1932 u could tune it
with mittens from the open cockpit of ur Boeing peashooter

Plus if you had a CW gun against ur head, there was the MCW switch enabling
audio oscillator op'n of modulators in BC230

Those OT guys had it figured well.  

Last the BC230 tx had ICW with the control box test key

Believe manual sez useful for "extreme range" to ground & mode not 
compatible w. BC229
