WRONG

On tested car inverters, complete isolation between 12V input, 
case, & output socket.  Hence at-home wisdom of how to treat that
polarized socket out the window.

Bridge rectifier & choke-input filter?  Bring it on.

Note to "couple of guys who asked the perfesser."  I posted on
powering BC-1000 & a RT-70 this way a week back.  Filament supply
delivered by old xfrmr-based 5V/6Vdc wall-warts

They both checked in @ Dayton on successive years.
