There still are the national broadcasters there,
often heard on east coast USA. However, i think
in Canada and Europe and possibly elsewhere too,
the trend is away from AM broadcasting. Canada
seems to be moving CBC stations to FM and in
Europe i seem to recall about some national 
AM broadcast stations closing. -Hue Miller
