Dont know, Im not a machinist. I own an old floor lathe but it doesnt lend
itself to small projects well. My use for a vertical mill and similar lean
to the automotive side of my interests. There I have plenty of friends to do
the work.

IF I were to do complicated mechanical designs Id have to do it in AutoCad
and then export to CNC controllers and let the machine shop take it from
there. Ive plenty of industry experience in that area but not running the
hardware which I still consider black magic. Id rather have the working end
of a TIG in my hand.
